About me
Samantha Schoech’s writing has appeared in The Sun, Seventeen, The Gettysburg Review, Glimmer Train, Travel & Leisure, the New York Times, and many other publications. Her collection of stories My Mother’s Boyfriends, which Vendela Vida called “witty and utterly enchanting,” is coming out in January 2025.
She earned her M.A. in Creative Writing from UC Davis and she’s been awarded numerous residencies, a Sustainable Arts Foundation grant, and the Erma Bombeck & Anna Lefler Humorist-in-Residence Award. In 2014, she founded Bookstore Day and served as its director for eight years. She’s now a member of The Writers Grotto and a staff writer at New York Times' Wirecutter.
She lives with her bookseller husband and their twins in San Francisco.
