Preeti Vangani is a poet and writer from Mumbai, living in San Francisco. She is the author of the poetry book Mother Tongue Apologize, winner of the RL India Poetry Prize. Her work has appeared in Poem-a-Day, Threepenny Review, Gulf Coast, Prairie Schooner, The Georgia Review among other places. Her debut short story was awarded the 2022 Pen/Robert J. Dau Prize. She has received residency support from UCross, Djerassi and Ragdale. And fellowships from SF Arts Commission and YBCA. She holds an MFA from University of San Francisco and currently teaches in their writing program.
