About me
Leslie Carol Roberts is a journalist, author, and essayist who has reported the news from every continent, including four months in Antarctica with Greenpeace. A professor, former Dean of Design, and MFA Writing chair at California College of the Arts, Leslie founded the ECOPOESIS Project in 2018 with Prof. Adam Marcus to bring conscious creative conversations to climate discourse. To date they’ve created workshops in Aotearoa/New Zealand, the Maldives, France, and the US, as well as invited talks at various universities. Roberts was the first Fulbright Fellow in the world in Antarctic Humanities and lectures widely on the materiality of ecologies. She’s written two books, The Entire Earth and Sky: Views on Antarctica (2008); and Here Is Where We Walk: Episodes from a Life in the Forest (2019). Of late Roberts has been interviewing eco-thought leaders and others for The Believer, including Tavares Strachan, Joanna Zylinska, and Timothy
Morton.
